The Century Cycle Challenge....

I had a conversation one day about a Charity bike ride. It was over 55 miles and was being held to raise money for the Force cancer charity. Somehow the conversation became a commitment that I was in. My first problem arose when I discovered my old bike had all sorts of faults, should I buy a new one? Yes I should, but my boyish spirit kicked in and I decided to do what I did as a lad and re-build it. Three months later it was finished after many many problems and bit failing.
The day of the ride arrived we had done one practice ride of about 34 miles and that was it. A horrible day, rain, wind and it was freezing, well it was June after all.
To cut a very long story short we completed the ride and were all very happy about it. My last charity bike ride was about twenty years ago, I was over the moon to finish this one I can tell you. Part of my new Life will be to do more challenges like this, wish me luck.

My friends pictured are Ann and Will, well done Guys....

My first Blog... Thanks Keelie......

Hello Readers,

Well I was encouraged to start a blog page by a lovely Girl I have been chatting to lately. So if it all gets boring please blame her not me.lol

My Life has recently taken another massive u-turn, I was Married to a wonderful woman called Nicky for about ten years and i was proud to have her in my Life. Unfortunately, as life does that relationship has now ended, we both grew up and apart, very sad and now I am left with the empty grieving feeling that this sort of thing leaves you with.

On a positive note, I am making new friends now and have found some very kind caring people around me. Funny enough because i work at a University, a lot of them seem to be my Students, they are all far too young to have experience of what i have been through at my age, but they look at me and smile and ask, "are you ok John"? Amazing how warm that makes me feel.

Thats the start over with i hope in time my blogs will get more and more fun as time passes and my life moves on.

Take care and be happy.
JohnX
